Exterior Works NVS
Construction undertook extensive external renovations that significantly enhanced the airport’s appearance and functionality. We designed and installed a custom subframe system, allowing us to clad the building with 300m² of 9mm compressed fibre cement (CFC) Exotec panels. These panels were painted in five distinct colours, chosen to reflect and complement the natural tones of the Pilbara landscape. In addition to the cladding, we supplied and installed all new roof flashings, window, and door trims, ensuring a modern, weather-resistant finish. Beyond the main terminal, we refurbished several ancillary buildings around the airport. This involved mechanically preparing the surfaces, followed by a complete repainting to revitalise the structures and enhance their durability. Interior Works Internally, the Ginbata Airport saw a comprehensive refurbishment. NVS Construction performed a full strip-out of the existing interior and executed a detailed renovation. Key elements of the work included:
Interior Works
Internally, the Ginbata Airport saw a comprehensive refurbishment. NVS Construction performed a full strip-out of the existing interior and executed a detailed renovation. Key elements of the work included:
- Whiterock Panels: We installed 500m² of hygienic Whiterock wall lining throughout the terminal, ensuring both durability and easy maintenance.
- Timber Cladding: In the café, check-in area, and on various structural columns, we used high-quality timber cladding, creating a warm and inviting aesthetic that balances the modern industrial design with natural materials.
- Ceilings and Bulkheads: The project also involved the installation of 650m² of flush ceilings and bulkheads, fully decorated to enhance the terminal’s appearance and acoustic performance.
- Flooring: New vinyl flooring was laid throughout the terminal, ensuring a robust, slip-resistant surface suitable for high-traffic areas.
- Signage and Artwork: NVS completed the interior transformation by installing custom signage and artwork, further improving the aesthetic appeal of the terminal.
Logistics and Project Staging
One of the key challenges of the Ginbata Airport refurbishment was ensuring the airport remained fully operational throughout the project. To address this, NVS Construction conducted the works in carefully planned stages, allowing the terminal to function without disruption. Temporary buildings were supplied and installed by NVS, providing alternative spaces for key airport operations while construction was underway.
